Epidemiological studies SARS-CoV-2–Specific Antibodies in Domestic Cats during First COVID-19 Wave, Europe Published 1 February 2022 Schulz, C. et al (2021) SARS-CoV-2–Specific Antibodies in Domestic Cats during First COVID-19 Wave, Europe. Emerging infectious Diseases, 27 (12), p. 3115 – 3118. https://doi.org/10.3201/eid2712.211252 This paper reports on the seroprevalence of SARS-CoV-2 antibodies in blood samples from 2,160 cats from UK, Germany, Italy and Spain submitted to a diagnostic laboratory, between April and June 2020. The study found overall SARS-CoV-2 seroprevalence among cats was 4.2% in Germany, 3.3% in the United Kingdom, 4.2% in Italy, and 6.4% in Spain.
