Responsible use of antiparasitic medications – a one health issue Published 16 June 2023 | Updated 4 June 2025 In order to use anthelmintics and antiparasitic medications responsibly it is important to consider not only the impact on the animals that we are treating but the potential impacts that these products may have on the wider environment. It is also important to be aware that some of the parasites that we treat in animals have zoonotic potential and therefore to consider the impact of failing to treat animals may have on human health.
