How to use the resource hub
How can I use the resource hub to improve outcomes?
Start by selecting the outcome you want to explore. These categories are based on the NASAN audit outcomes, with an additional section dedicated to rabbit-specific evidence.
You can choose from:
- Abnormal healing
- Adverse events / fatalities
- Rabbits
Each section includes:
- Links to published evidence
- Knowledge Summaries
- Guidelines and articles
- Case examples
- Ready-to-use resources
Some materials are focused on dogs, cats, or general surgery, but the evidence may still inform your practice decisions.
Tip: Discuss new evidence or resources with your team. Use your audit results to identify areas for improvement, then implement changes. Remember to repeat your audit cycle, to see if your changes made an impact.

The only free, open-access, peer-reviewed journal for veterinary professionals. It publishes Knowledge Summaries that answer real clinical questions, helping vets, nurses, and paraprofessionals make informed decisions.

Practical resources to help you implement and monitor changes in your practice. Even if some are species-specific, many principles can be adapted to your context.

Here’s how you can build on that success and share your impact with the wider profession:
Celebrate and share your success
- Re-audit in a few months. Confirm that your low complication rate is consistent over time.
- Share your results with your team. Celebrate your achievement together—it’s a team effort!
- Inspire others. Submit a case example, along with your guidelines and protocols, to help other practices improve their outcomes.
- Apply for an RCVS Knowledge Award. Use your NASAN experience to apply. Winners are recognised as leaders in Quality Improvement and get the chance to collaborate with RCVS Knowledge to share their journey. Find out more.
