Cannabidiol: Cannabinoid receptors and pharmacokinetics

spotlight topic:

The use of cannabidiol (CBD) in animals

3. Cannabinoid receptors and pharmacokinetics Published 23 April 2023 | Updated 9 August 2024 In order to understand whether, and how, cannabinoids may exert an effect we need to understand the types and distribution of cannabinoid receptors and the way in which different formulation of cannabidiol are absorbed and distributed. Evidence in this area is very limited for veterinary species and as the first paper, a systematic review on the pharmacokinetics of cannabidiol in humans, shows there is still a paucity of data in humans.
