2 Cats – France

Added 18 May 2020 The first cat, from Paris, belonged to owners previously suspected of being infected with COVID-19. One cat showed mild respiratory and digestive signs and tested positive by qRT-PCR on rectal swab although the nasopharyngeal swabs from this animal tested negative. The second cat, from the Bordeaux region, had respiratory disease that was non-responsive to antibiotics and anti-inflammatories, which it is reported may have been the result of infection with SARS-CoV-2. This cat tested positive on nasopharyngeal swab, but negative on rectal swab.
