Veterinary Evidence becomes member of the Committee on Publication Ethics

This achievement signifies that Veterinary Evidence follows the highest standards of publication ethics.

We are delighted to announce that our journal Veterinary Evidence has been accepted as a member of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). This achievement signifies that Veterinary Evidence follows the highest standards of publication ethics.

Upon applying to COPE the journal was subjected to a rigorous 18-month review process in which every aspect of the journal was carefully examined. COPE took into account our editorial management processes; our peer review, editorial and production process; our publication ethics and author misconduct policies, as well as a detailed analysis of the journal through more subtle forms of assessment based on COPE’s Membership subcommittee’s experience.

Alongside being a member of COPE, Veterinary Evidence holds a DOAJ Seal in recognition of its publishing standards, adherence to best practice and high level of openness. The journal is also indexed in CAB Abstracts, the leading applied life sciences database.

Veterinary Evidence is the only free, open access, peer-reviewed journal for veterinary professionals that publishes evidence based on clinically relevant questions that respond to specific information needs. The journal is aimed at veterinary surgeons, veterinary nurses, paraprofessionals and allied professions in the international veterinary community.

Veterinary Evidence Editor-in-chief, Kit Sturgess said, “Membership of COPE is a real achievement for Veterinary Evidence, clearly showing authors and readers that the journal can demonstrate that it has high ethical publication standards.”

The journal publishes Knowledge Summaries, Audio Summaries and original research and editorials. It also publishes clinical audits, practice-based case studies, guidelines and systematic reviews, to give readers practical tools as well as evidence to use in their everyday practice.
